Illusion Knitting
You may have seen Shadow or Illusion knitting before but never like this. We have pioneered a new method of charting which allows you to create simple designs or complicated-looking artworks.

All workshops will begin by knitting a sampler so that you can see how the charting and illusion knitting works. According to the length of the workshop, and as time allows, we will move on to knitting a ready-charted motif and looking at developing your own skills in charting for illusion knits.

Mittens
Learn to make mittens the Woolly Thoughts way. They are guaranteed to fit, whatever yarn and needles you choose, without having to make a gauge swatch. Once you have learned the technique you can customise it in many different ways.

Hats
One simple method allows you to make an infinite variety of hats using as many, or as few colours as you want. Learn the method then let your imagination run riot. No tape measures or gauge swatch needed! In the workshop you will use your own head but hats can be made to fit anyone.

Half and Half Squares
Knit a simple two colour diagonal square ...then knit a few more ...then use them to start to look at the spectacular designs you could be creating.

You will be able to use these ideas for sweaters, bags, cushions, afghans, or anything else you want.

From Square to Eternity/Modular Knitting
Beginning with a simple square we will open your eyes to endless possibilities for garments, hangings or pillows without ever having to make gauge swatch or do any complicated calculations. This is a combined workshop and illustrated talk. You knit and we talk, in a relaxed atmosphere. You do not need to be skilled at multi-tasking to keep up. You will leave with enough knowledge to design and make things you never previously dreamed of.
