This is one of the simplest shawls you can knit. It is mostly holes which makes it soft and comfortable to wear. It can be spread out and worn as a shawl, or scrunched up as a scarf.
The pattern repeat is just four rows and three of those are only garter stitch. The row that makes the holes has a four stitch repeat so it is almost impossible to go wrong.
The shawl is slightly asymmetric which means that the bottom point might not be exactly in the middle. This can vary depending on how loose the knitting is. The long edge will be slightly curved which means it stays in place better.
