Tips on buying from us using PayPal

What is PayPal?

The PayPal website say this:
Founded in 1998, PayPal, an eBay Company, enables any individual or business with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments online. PayPal's service builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and credit cards and utilizes the world's most advanced proprietary fraud prevention systems to create a safe, global, real-time payment solution.

How do I use the order form?

The order form shows you which of our publications can be ordered from us using PayPal payment. Some can be bought as printed books or booklets, some as electronic .pdf files, and some in either format.

For each publication which can be ordered using PayPal, there is a button like this or this . If you would like to buy an item, click its button. This should open up a PayPal web page showing your shopping basket. Each time you click a button on the order form, a new item should appear in the basket.

If you somehow lose the PayPal basket page, you can get it back by pressing the button which looks like this .

The shopping basket page allows you to remove unwanted items or specify whether you want multiple copies of an item (of course, asking for multiple copies of a .pdf file would be a bit silly). When you have finished deciding what you want to buy, click the Proceed to Checkout button on the shopping basket page.

Some of the items on the order form can be bought from other sources, such as Amazon or Lulu. Clicking on one of these opens up a different website and has no effect on your PayPal basket.

Do I need to be a PayPal member?

Not necessarily. Once you have filled your shopping basket and pressed Proceed to Checkout, PayPal begins the business of accepting payment, whis is all handled by PayPal's secure servers. You will be given the option of logging in to PayPal to make an easy payment from your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal account, or your account has insufficient funds, you should have the option of making an on-line payment using a credit/debit card.

If don't want to make an on-line payment at all, just have a look at the order form to see what's available and then send an e-mail to sales@woollythoughts.com telling us which items you would like. We will to tell you the total cost including shipping and where you should send a cheque. Any of the items which are marked as being available from PayPal can be purchased this way.

What is the shipping cost?

The shipping cost is not shown on the website because the shipping cost for each item depends on how many items are packaged together in one parcel. The PayPal shopping basket attempts to calculate the cost of postage and packaging. Unfortunately, it does this before asking for a delivery address. The price quoted for shipping assumes that the package will be sent by worldwide airmail.

If the delivery address which you specify is in the UK or elsewhere in Europe, PayPal will therefore overcharge you for the postage. We will refund the excess when we package the books. The refund should be something like 50% of the shipping cost for delivery within the UK and 20% elsewhere in Europe.

How long will delivery take?

If you order paper copies of our publications, we will normally post them within 24 hours. Worldwide delivery should then take about a week.

If you order electronic copies, we will normally e-mail them to you within 24 hours.
