This book has now been combined with Creating Knitwear Designs to form a new book, Design to Fit.

The original intended title of this book was I Have the Measure of You.

Making Knitwear Fit is intended to help with designing your own garments. It concentrates on the calculations you will need to make before you can get started. It is a maths book - but one that can be understood by everyone.

This book assumes that you can already knit but it does not make any assumptions about your understanding of why things work like they do.

It takes you right back to knitting a tension square (swatch) and how and why to measure it properly. As with Creating Knitwear Designs, it tries to answer questions you might not like to ask but have never known the answers to. It leads on to some quite complex maths, like simultaneous equations, for example, but the step-by-step explanations are easy to follow.

In this book you will find a kangaroo who has her pocket stuffed full of knitting implements and yarn in addition to a young kangaroo and the occasional visiting sheep.

This is a companion volume to Creating Knitwear Designs. There is some overlap between the two books as they are intended to be used separately or together.

GMC catalogue's review:
This easy-to-follow guide promises success every time with the calculations involved in creating your own knitwear. Imaginatively written and clearly illustrated, this book explains what measurements and calculations are needed and how to make them. Even complex mathematics are made simple.

This book is A5 size and has 80 pages.
