 CREATING KNITWEAR DESIGNS

The original intended title of this book was I Have Designs on You.

This is a book for someone who already knows how to knit but has never been brave enough to create their own designs. Unlike many books about design, it does not go into the fine details. We feel that many books go too far too quickly and tell you much more than you want to know. The outcome of this is that they are confusing, unusable and off-putting.

Hopefully, this book will encourage the hesitant beginner and answer some of the questions that experienced designers assume everyone else already knows the answers to.

It is also home to Sir Pent who is pictured here with his daughter, Miss Pent.

This is a companion volume to Making Knitwear Fit. There is some overlap between the two books as they are intended to be used separately or together.

GMC catalogue's review:
Make the move on from commercial knitting patterns to designing your own knitwear. Learn how garments can be divided into manageable pieces; how to calculate tension; calculate the number of stitches and rows; to make stripes fit; to plan other patterns and add pictures. Includes a project for you to put principles into practice.

This book is A5 size and has 80 pages.
