Design your own afghan
By repeating the three steps below, you can explore the different patterns which can be produced by putting together squares like this pointing in different directions.
Step 1: select some squares
Step 2: say how you would like to change them
The selected transformation will be applied to each chosen square.
Some of these transformations will have the same effects as others.
Rotate 90o clockwise
Rotate 90o anticlockwise
Rotate 180o
Mirror horizontally
Mirror vertically
Invert colours
Step 3: click on to make the changes
Once the squares which you have just chosen have been changed, you will be able to select more squares and repeat the process until you have produced a design which you like.
If your last change was a mistake, it and try again.
