MÖBIUS BECAUSE I’M A LONDONER

Five Möbius bands to represent the Olympic rings. Each ring has five half-twists.

The idea evolved from our recent work with Möbius bands and the ever-increasing publicity for the 2012 Olympics in London.

If you are not from UK, the title might not make sense to you. It is a corruption of Maybe Its Because I’m A Londoner which was written by Hubert Gregg in 1946 and sung by Bud Flanagan.
CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION

The background is made from a piece of mesh fabric with surface crochet to fill the holes. The grid determines the spacing for the lettering, which is applied with surface crochet.
CROCHET INFORMATION

The rings, which are held in place by strips of Velcro, can be removed from the background.
